I vote for intelligence, preparedness, and ISSUES

Cut the "hockey mom" crap already. What's up with people being so gung-ho about wanting to elect a VP (potentially future Prez) who is JUST LIKE THEM? I don't want someone just like me to be one heartbeat away from the most powerful office in the country--possibly in the world. I don't have a clue how to run a country. I want someone who has the political education and experience to succeed and the intelligence and humility to defer to others when necessary. Being able to relate to the people and being politically illiterate and inexperienced JUST LIKE the people are two very different things.

I'll probably regret posting this...

So...I realize this is kind of dangerous...making religion my first blog post. But I found this little note I wrote back last spring, posted to the Richard Dawkins website in the "Converts' Corner" and figured I'd share it, since technically it's already out there (to a narrow audience, since those who would make nasty comments wouldn't be on the dawkins website in the first place).
